Finance Administrator (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

Our Client
Our client is a well-established construction and development business delivering high-quality housing projects across New Zealand. With more than 250 homes built, these guys are literally putting roofs over our heads.
But behind every successful build is a superstar team crunching the numbers, balancing the books, and keeping the wheels turning – and that’s where this role comes in.
Reporting to the Accounts Manager, we’re looking for a Finance Administrator who gets genuinely excited about immaculate data entry… dotting the i’s, crossing the t’s, and then double-checking everything just to be safe.
The majority of this role will focus on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable using Xero, with plenty of variety along the way. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in ad hoc projects and learn the ropes of payroll when you’re ready.
The day to day
- Processing supplier invoices and payments using Xero
- Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and transactions
- Monitoring outstanding accounts and following up overdue payments
- Maintaining accurate financial records within Xero
- Supporting weekly and monthly payment runs
- Looking after the company vehicle fleet and related administration
- Assisting with reporting and general finance administration
- Supporting the wider finance team wherever needed
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Knows their way around Xero and has ideally had at least 12 months of exposure to the software
- Lives for the details – if something doesn’t reconcile, you’ll find it before anyone else does
- Enjoys working with numbers, systems, and processes
- Is happy to jump into a 12-month contract and see where the journey takes them
- Can hold their own with a bunch of tradies – all good buggers, with the occasional bit of unfiltered banter
- Has strong organisational skills and takes pride in producing accurate work
- Doesn’t mind picking up the phone to chase an overdue invoice and can do so professionally and confidently
- Is proactive, reliable, and enjoys being part of a close-knit team
