Our client 

Our client is a highly regarded leader within the legal industry who known for their commitment to excellence and dedication. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to provide essential support to their finance team on a contract basis until December 2025.

The role 

  • Assist with general daily accounts duties within the Auckland Accounts Team working closely with your colleagues in this high performing team
  • Process transactions and settlements promptly and accurately to support multiple offices
  • Build relationships with other parts of the business – this team is integral to the efficient running of the firm and delivery for their clients
  • You’ll need to be a clear communicator and able to effectively manage multiple priorities while keeping key stakeholders informed and their expectations managed.
  • Maintain firm compliance in managing trust and office accounts
  • Handle inquiries on transactions, billing, and charge-out rates, supporting partners and other team members across New Zealand
  • Manage Interest Bearing Deposits, foreign currency transactions, and disbursement payments
  • Support the AML/CFT officer with compliance queries and processes as needed
  • You’ll have a keen eye for detail and a natural problem-solving approach, be able to work to deadlines with professionalism and efficiency

About you

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role within legal, professional services, or banking.
  • Strong skills in handling high-value transactions.
  • Experience with trust accounts, reconciliation, and financial compliance is a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and a natural curiosity for understanding and solving complex issues.
  • A proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and thrives in troubleshooting challenges.
