Companion Role– Join the Care Team for a Bright, Neurodivergent Young Woman (Remuera, Auckland)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a lovely family in Remuera, Auckland, who are looking for two dedicated support workers to join their care team.

You will be supporting a 21-year-old neurodivergent woman who is fun, gentle, and enjoys spending time with people who are calm, caring, and engaging. She loves the outdoors- from walks on the beach with the dog to snow skiing. She is very active, she plays the drums, speaks multiple languages and is completing a course at Unitec.

She has complex support needs and requires support with social norms and to keep her safe when out completing her favourite activities. Previous experience working with people with disabilities is key, but her family will provide full training and ongoing guidance. What matters most is that you are reliable, kind, and open to learning.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with social interactions and being a positive role model
• Cooking- all meals are chef made in house and will just need heating up 
• Driving her to and from activities using the corporate car (full clean drivers license is essential)

This is a 6 month FTC ideally for someone who can commit for the rest of the year (and beyond, if it suits both parties). The family has had amazing support workers in the past and are looking for someone who can build a strong, lasting relationship with their daughter.

Ideal candidates will be:

• Great with young people and comfortable supporting neurodivergent individuals
• Reliable, patient, and committed to regular work
• Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
• Hold a full, clean driver’s licence and the right to work in New Zealand

Hours:

• 3 days per week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday up to 20 hours a week
• 8:00am – 1:30pm for the morning shift and 1:30pm – 6:30pm for the evening shift
• Additional casual hours may be available during school holidays, occasional evening babysitting, and travel support during family holidays.

Pay rate: $30-35 per hour

Location: Remuera, Auckland — applicants must have reliable transport and consider travel time before applying.
