As their Senior BAS Manager – Tax and Compliance, you’ll partner closely with an offshore transactional accounting team to ensure the work going out to clients is of the highest quality and accuracy. You’ll also work closely and collaborate with the client facing, finance business partners (BAS Accountants) to deliver exceptional results for the companies clients!

The Responsibilities
– You’ll be the first port of call for the review process across all compliance work, working closely with the outsourced transactional accounting and compliance team.
– Maintain the relationship with the outsourcing provider and ensure work gets completed in line with client expectations and commitments.
– You may also have some direct relationships with our portfolio of clients to discuss the review process, deadline and milestones.
– Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
– Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
– Quality control and reviews – ensuring a robust quality control process is in place for all firm compliance work and contribute to reviews.
– Documentation management – you will be responsible for ensuring all compliance related processes are documented, communicated, adhered to, and regularly reviewed.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information in a professional and jargon-free manner.
– Accuracy and an eye for detail.
– Provide the team with training and insight into your role in an ad hoc capacity to drive collaboration and understanding across our tight knit team.
About you
– You’re CA or CPA qualified with at least 3-4 years PQE.
– Current NZ tax knowledge and sound grounding in compliance, including GAAP and statutory accounting, is essential
– You need to be a systems savvy individual with previous experience with Xero
– Excellent time management skills to prioritise work flow
