- Permanent / Full Time
- Auckland
- Salary/rate: $140,000 - $160,000
- Job Category: Accounting
Our client:
Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary financial services firm based in Auckland, bringing together Accounting, Wealth, Mortgages, Insurance and Property under one roof.
With a strong client base and continued growth, they are seeking to appoint a senior trust professional into a pivotal role within the business.
The role:
This is not a traditional trust administration role. It is a leadership opportunity for a commercially minded trust lawyer or fiduciary specialist who is ready to step beyond billables, hierarchy and waiting for partnership.
You will play a key role in shaping and expanding trust capability within a growing advisory business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on trust structuring and succession planning
- Establishing and administering family, trading and charitable trusts
- Leading governance and compliance (Trusts Act 2019, AML/CFT, IRD)
- Working closely with Accounting and Wealth teams to deliver integrated advice
- Contributing to the development of systems, frameworks and service standards
- Helping shape the direction and commercial growth of trust services
This role offers genuine autonomy, visibility and influence within an established platform.
About you:
You’re likely operating at Senior Associate, Special Counsel, Associate Director or Senior Trust Manager level. Technically strong. Commercially aware. But conscious that true leadership or partnership may still be years away. You’re not looking for a sideways move, you’re looking for scope.
The three non-negotiables:
- Commercial instinct: You understand value creation, not just compliance.
- Client ownership drive: You want end-to-end advisory relationships.
- Comfort with autonomy and ambiguity: You can build, not just maintain.
You’ll also bring:
- 4+ years’ experience in trusts, estates or fiduciary services
- Strong advisory and structuring capability
- Sound legal reasoning and risk framing skills
- LLB, STEP or relevant financial services qualifications are advantageous
- Working knowledge of the Trusts Act 2019
This role suits someone ready to step into genuine influence not wait for it.
Why make the move?
- Competitive salary based on your experience
- Real scope to shape and influence a growing capability
- Work alongside a high-performing, ambitious team of top talent
- Exposure across multiple business units in an integrated advisory model
- A supportive environment with experienced professionals
- Ongoing professional development
- A state-of-the-art, modern CBD office in the heart of Auckland
You’ll be surrounded by driven, commercially sharp professionals who are building something meaningful and working hard while doing it.
